La prima edizione del TIMF – Turin International Monodrama Festival si è conclusa sabato 21 dicembre con le premiazioni degli spettacoli in concorso da parte della giuria internazionale. Alla kermesse dedicata ai Paesi del Bacino del Mediterraneo e del Golfo Arabico, curata dal Centro nazionale di produzione blucinQue Nice e da Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo, con la Direzione Artistica di Barbara Bertin, hanno partecipato 7 spettacoli provenienti da Italia, Emirati Arabi Uniti, Oman, Tunisia, Francia, Giordania e Palestina, cui si sono aggiunti due spettacoli italiani fuori concorso, Gelsomina Dreams e Coppelia Solo di Compagnia blucinQue. Il progetto è stato sostenuto da Ministero della Cultura, Circoscrizione 1 – Città di Torino, IREN con il patrocinio di Città Metropolitana di Torino, Regione Piemonte, Italian Industry & Commerce Office in the UAE, DAMS Torino, Accademia di Belle Arti Albertina di Torino.
Il riconoscimento come Migliore performance è stato assegnato a Inad Theater, con lo spettacolo Jabra dalla Palestina, di cui è protagonista Khalid Massou, diretto da Emil Saba, che ha anche ricevuto il premio come Miglior attore.
Il titolo di Migliore attrice è andato a Maram Abu Al-Haiia di The Liberal Theatre Company dalla Giordania, volto dello spettacolo Safiya, diretto da Firas Al-Masri. Lo spettacolo ha ricevuto anche il premio per la Migliore scenografia, realizzata da Muhammad Al-Marashdeh.
Il premio come Miglior autore è stato assegnato a Ahmed Abdullah Rashid con lo spettacolo The Mamlock degli Emirati Arabi Uniti, di Almaaselah Production, che ha portato sulla scena l’attore Abdullah Al Khadeim.
Particolare apprezzamento da parte della giuria internazionale per le produzioni fuori concorso della compagnia blucinQue, diretta da Caterina Mochi Sismondi, che ha portato in scena, nelle giornate di apertura e chiusura della kermesse, Gelsomina Dreams e Coppelia Solo. La compagnia è stata invitata alla prossima edizione delle Giornate Teatrali di Cartagine.
La giuria ha, infine, voluto assegnare anche quattro Special Awards. Mariem Sayeh dalla Tunisia ha ricevuto la menzione di Festival Godmother and Performer, portando in scena lo spettacolo Mother Nature. La menzione speciale Performance è andata a Meter X Meter con Sami Al Busaidi dall’Oman, lo special award come Performer è stato assegnato a Salvatore Cappello, interprete di Miniminagghi di Cie L’alchimique dalla Francia e quello di Attore è andato a Abdullah Al Khadeim dagli Emirati Arabi Uniti, protagonista di The Mamlock.
“Coppelia Solo di compagnia blucinQue, spettacolo fuori concorso, con la bravissima Elisa Mutto e la direzione di Caterina Mochi Sismondi, ha chiuso il nostro festival e una settimana ricca di appuntamenti, spettacoli e visite. La delegazione internazionale non solo ha molto apprezzato l’accoglienza e la bellezza di Torino, ma è rimasta profondamente colpita dalla bravura degli artisti in scena. E poi i momenti conviviali, lo scambio di buone pratiche e la promessa/impegno di continuare insieme in futuro questo percorso di scambi interculturali appena iniziato. Questo è stato il TIMF e possiamo affermare che è stato un appuntamento straordinario”, sono le parole della direttrice artistica Barbara Bertin.

The first edition of TIMF – Turin International Monodrama Festival ended on Saturday 21 December with the awards ceremony of the competing shows by the international jury. Seven shows from Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Tunisia, France, Jordan and Palestine took part in the festival dedicated to the countries of the Mediterranean Basin and the Arabian Gulf, curated by the blucinQue Nice National Production Centre and the Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo, with the Artistic Direction of Barbara Bertin, plus two Italian shows out of competition, Gelsomina Dreams and Coppelia Solo by Compagnia blucinQue. The project was supported by the Ministry of Culture, District 1 – City of Turin, IREN with the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont Region, Italian Industry & Commerce Office in the UAE, DAMS Turin, Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin.
The Best Performance award went to Inad Theater, with the show Jabra from Palestine, starring Khalid Massou, directed by Emil Saba, who also received the Best Actor award.
The Best Actress title went to Maram Abu Al-Haiia of The Liberal Theatre Company from Jordan, the face of the show Safiya, directed by Firas Al-Masri. The show also received the award for Best Set Design, created by Muhammad Al-Marashdeh.
The prize for Best Author was awarded to Ahmed Abdullah Rashid with the show The Mamlock from the United Arab Emirates, by Almaaselah Production, which brought on stage actor Abdullah Al Khadeim.
Particular appreciation by the international jury for the out-of-competition productions of the blucinQue company, directed by Caterina Mochi Sismondi, which staged Gelsomina Dreams and Coppelia Solo on the opening and closing days of the kermesse. The company was invited to the next edition of the Carthage Theatre Days.
Finally, the jury also awarded four Special Awards. Mariem Sayeh from Tunisia received the Festival Godmother and Performer mention, performing the show Mother Nature. The Special Mention Performance went to Meter X Meter with Sami Al Busaidi from Oman, the Special Award for Performer went to Salvatore Cappello, performer of Miniminagghi by Cie L’alchimique from France, and the Special Award for Actor went to Abdullah Al Khadeim from the United Arab Emirates, star of The Mamlock.
‘Coppelia Solo by compagnia blucinQue, a show out of competition, with the very talented Elisa Mutto and the direction of Caterina Mochi Sismondi, closed our festival and a week full of events, performances and visits. The international delegation not only greatly appreciated the welcome and beauty of Turin, but was deeply impressed by the skill of the artists on stage. And then the convivial moments, the exchange of good practices and the promise/commitment to continue together in the future this path of intercultural exchanges that had just begun. This was TIMF and we can say that it was an extraordinary event,’ are the words of artistic director Barbara Bertin.
